Bristol school kept off tax rolls

The Ellis County Commissioners Court approved a tax exemption for a Bristol landmark before its caretakers received a hefty bill.

Tax Assessor John Bridges requested the exemption at the court’s Monday meeting. The building was declared a “historically significant site in need of tax relief to encourage its preservation.”
