Budget headed for fall passage

A 2-percent employee raise, a handful of equipment purchases and an increased fund balance are all part of the city’s new draft budget.
The budget adoption process will stretch forward to Sept. 17, when the Ennis City Commission is set to sign off on the city’s new tax rate and budget ordinances for the coming fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.
