Car smashes insurance office

Ennis Police Officer Ross Jones said the driver of the vehicle was not injured. Fire Chief Jeff Aycock said the building was not occupied at the time of the crash.

A driver accidentally crashed through the front wall of a local business Friday morning.

Ross Jones of the Ennis Police Department said a woman parked in front of the Farmers Insurance office shortly before 10 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of NE Main St. mistakenly hit the gas pedal of her SUV, driving it into the building.

Jones said the driver of the vehicle was not injured. Fire Chief Jeff Aycock said the building was not occupied at the time of the crash.
