CertainTeed reopens

CertainTeed celebrated the reopening of their Ennis production facility at 2901 N. Kaufman on Thursday. On hand for the event (from left) were Jeannette Patak, Chamber president, CertainTeed Vice President of Operations George Wattman, Mayor Russell Thomas, CertainTeed President Guillaume Texier, DJ Damberger and Joe Quaranta. Employees Dondre Johnson and Chris Montemayor (not pictured) held the ribbon for Texier to cut.

CertainTeed Corporation formally marked the reopening of its Ennis facility 10 months after the initial announcement that it was coming back to town.

The plant had originally been decommissioned in February 2007 because of a down economy.
