Due to some adversity early this season, Wednesday night brought a big-time ballgame for the Keever Cheetahs and the Noon Lions Mustangs.
One of these junior division teams was going to get its first win of the year. When the dust settled, consistent offense propelled the Cheetahs to an 11-5 victory. Both teams tallied three hits and the Cheetahs committed fewer errors (1-4).
“This was our first victory of the year,” said Cheetah coach Clark Harrison. “I was real proud of our girls. They played good defense and our offense really turned on with some girls having their best hits of the year.”
The Mustangs’ outlook was very bright early, as they led 5-0.
