The City of Ennis Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals voted Tuesday night to deny a variance to a local preacher looking to build a radio station at 1107 S. Clay St.

The board members voted 3-2 in favor of granting the variance, but according to its own rules any variance must attain a 4-1 supermajority to pass.

Board members Mike French Becky Herrera and Tim Cox voted in favor, while Jasper Hughes and Drew Anderson voted against.
