City mulls golf course buy

The Ennis Economic Development Corporation approved what could become the city’s biggest park project to date on Tuesday.

The development arm of the city discussed a deal to purchase just under 80 acres of land north of Country Club Road for $300,000 and develop it into a park. The property was formerly the Ennis Country Club, and is owned by Jones/Lakeside, LLC.
