The Ennis City Commission approved a move Monday to have Ellis County start collecting the city’s property taxes.
John Bridges, Ellis County tax assessor-collector, said the city’s decision comes alongside decisions for county-level tax collections by most other county taxing units, most recently the Ennis Independent School District and city of Bardwell. Commissioners also approved using Bridges’ recommended preferred law firm for delinquent tax issues — Linebarger Goggan Blair and Sampson.
