City plans elections; Taylor bows out

Ennis is preparing for another city commission election this May, but one of the longtime veterans on the board has announced he’s bowing out of the coming race.
The formal election date is planned for May 11, with early voting commencing April 29 and running through May 7 at Ennis City Hall. Commission seats up for polling include Ward 2, Ward 4 and the mayor pro-tem seat, as well as the city marshal. Those positions are two-year terms.
Mayor Pro-Tem Bob Taylor, who has served the city on the commission for nearly two decades, will end his term of service as a commissioner this May.
