City preps for spray

Ennis will begin spraying airborne pesticide to control mosquitoes Thursday.

City Manager Steve Howerton announced the need for spraying this week a month after city commissioners discussed holding off on the pesticide program until the need arose. Howerton said the Texas Department of State Health Services informed the city of a positive West Nile virus test in a mosquito in town, prompting the spraying plan.
