City reduces budget spending

Phil Bankerp...@ennisdailynews.com

City Manager Chuck Ewings presented a slightly lower budget at Monday night’s meeting of the Ennis City Commission, cutting several non-reoccuring expenses by postponing or scaling back several projects.

Ewings said he was able to cut $408,903 in non-reoccurring expenses in the fiscal year 2014-15 budget by postponing the recycling program upgrades, purchasing current year vehicles, reducing the amount of regrading done on sports fields, and postponing the purchase of a new street sweeper.
