City spraying stepping up

Spraying for mosquitoes in Ennis is ramping up as city officials try to fight the proliferation of the West Nile virus infections.

Two possible Ennis-area cases of the virus — one in the Longbranch Circle area near Bardwell and one in the area of Rice — have yet to be confirmed by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
