City’s share of 287 unclear

The latest round of discussion over the planned finish-out of the U.S. 287 Bypass centered largely on how much Ennis will have to pay.

Project plans show the project, which stretches from SH 34 to I-45, won’t be under construction until February 2016. The city will need to be able to commit a 10-percent match for right-of-way acquisition in either 2014 or 2015, based on estimates from TxDOT area engineer Scott Morrow.
