Former school board candidate Karen Weaver and husband Steven face a judgment ordering them to pay more than $568,000 in Ellis County civil court after a suit over allegations of undue influence and manipulation of an elderly widow.
The $568,855.60 judgment against Karen and Steven Weaver comes after a six-man jury assessed damages of $800,000 in the case in January over the suit brought by the grandchildren of Louise Hrbacek. Defense attorney Don Young said the appeal process is already under way.
