EDN News Service, [email protected]

Cinergy Cinemas will launch its Cinergy Classics program at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 28, offering patrons a chance to see the classics on the big screen once again.

First up is the original True Grit starring John Wayne, Glen Campbell, and Kim Darby. Other prominent roles are played by Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Jeremy Slate, and Alfred Ryder. The 1969 film revolves around the drunken and disagreeable U.S. Marshall Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) and a Texas Ranger who help a stubborn young woman track down her father’s murderer in Indian territory. John Wayne won his only Academy Award for his performance in this film.
