Commissioners OK 69.5-cent tax rate

Ennis commissioners OK’d the city’s tax rate and budget on first reading Monday.
The second and final vote on the tax rate is set Sept. 17.
The rate of $0.695 per $100 value is expected to raise about $250,000 in additional revenue in the coming tax year despite remaining unchanged from the prior year.
