The 5th annual Bluebonnet Barbecue Cook-off will bring grill masters from throughout the Metroplex and beyond to compete in Ennis on Saturday and participants and judges are still welcome.
The event, sponsored by the Ennis Chamber of Commerce, includes four categories, a chance at plaques and cash prizes and, most importantly, bragging rights.
Contestants will start checking in for the event at noon on Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall and most of them are expected to cook Friday night into Saturday morning. Featured categories include beef brisket, pork shoulder/butt, pork spare ribs and chicken.
