County, city authorities hammering out formal resource plan

Chief Deputy Dennis Brearley spoke with the Ellis County Commissioners Court on Tuesday morning about formalizing agreements between the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and the Waxahachie Police Department regarding the sharing of resources and equipment.

Brearley said the Sheriff’s Office and the WPD have shared various resources for many years, including county training facilities, dispatching services, WPD’s gun range and agility course, and the sheriff department’s skylift and an armored sheriff’s office vehicle known as the “Batmobile.”
