County lifts burn ban

The Ellis County Commissioners Court voted Monday to rescind the county wide burn ban, citing the rapidly falling Keetch-Byrum drought index.
Fire Marshal Joe Stewart said the county’s average drought index sat at 220 on Monday, after roughly 4 inches of rain fell last week.
