County meeting plan fails

The Ellis County Commissioners Court faced opposition Monday morning after proposing the elimination of regular evening meetings.
County Judge Carol Bush said security concerns brought up in light of the recent killing of Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse prompted the proposed change to hold all court meetings at 10 a.m. Currently, meetings alternate between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
