Crash kills 1 on 287 bypass

A driver from Heartland died in a crash near the Ennis Parkway overpass on the U.S. 287 Bypass around dusk Wednesday.
Ennis Police Department Patrol Lt. Fred Pontley said Gary Perry, 33, was driving on the U.S. 287 Bypass around 6 p.m. and crashed his 2005 Ford F-150 pickup into an 18-wheeler. Officer Jeff Bates is still investigating the crash, but initial reports seem to indicate Perry caused the crash.
