Ennis will play host to a group of dignitaries from the Czech Republic at this year’s Polka Festival.
The official at the lead of the nine-person group is Karel Schwarzenberg, the country’s deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, who will serve as the annual parade’s grand marshal.
They are expected in Ennis on the morning of the Polka Festival on Saturday, May 29, through early afternoon, and their itinerary is planned to include visits with veterans of General Patton’s 3rd Army, residents of the city and stops at the Czech halls.
