Ennis Daily News photo by Nick Todaro / Clearing storm debris associated with the tornado that raked Ennis on May 16 has been a weeks-long effort for the city’s work crews. City Manager Steve Howerton revealed as of Thursday, when the above image was taken of the current temporary debris storage site at the corner of Lampasas Street and Kaufman Street, the city had collected more than 8,000 cubic yards of accumulated wood and tree debris. That figure translates to roughly the equivalent of 270 garbage truck loads. A normal day of trash collection brings 10 truck loads at most, Howerton said.
