The Historic Landmark Commission gave their nod to demolition plans for properties near the intersection of West Ennis Avenue and South Dallas Street on Tuesday after another round of emotional pleas from members of the public.

Chief among the desires aired was taking the tornado strike as an opportunity to redevelop a high-profile space in downtown Ennis in a way that might bring people and money flowing back into downtown with new things to do.
