Denny’s closed following bizarre crash

Denny’s in Ennis will be closed for the time being after an 88-year-old reportedly slammed a pickup into the corner of the building on Sunday.

Police reports detail law enforcement’s reconstruction of the crash, which occurred a bit after 5 a.m. Det. Sgt. Jason York said the driver, George Anderson, reported he was in the Whataburger parking lot in his pickup when his foot got stuck between the vehicle’s accelerator and brake as he turned around in his seat.
