Developments give boost

Ennis has benefited from more than $33.3 million in development projects in the last three years, and development seems to be gaining speed.

City Manager Steve Howerton discussed the city’s economic progress to commissioners at this week’s meeting of the Ennis City Commission, outlining more than $2.36 million in permitted projects under construction in the short term. Longer-term work not yet permitted but in planning and development stages would bring another $30.8 million in permit value to the city.
