Director outlines plan for supporting service groups

Economic Development Director Marty Nelson outlined a menu of area organizations whose mission of serving people at their point of need during Tuesday’s Rotary Club weekly meeting.

Nelson outlined a detailed game plan for networking with groups whose purpose closely connects to Rotarians motto of “Service above Self.”

The list included programs like Give a Kid a Chance, Watch Me Run, Lion Cubs, Book Nooks, Angel Tree and Be Church.

“Each of these projects meets at least one of three critical needs,” Nelson said. “The physical, felt needs are often the most pressing to families. Helping with the emotional will communicate to people they are not alone in the community.
