Downtown plans aim high

City leaders remain largely mum on the specifics of a city-sponsored downtown reinvestment plan in the works behind closed doors.

Following impassioned discussions over whether to topple buildings along Ennis Avenue hurt worst by the May tornado, city commissioners held a closed-door session Monday on “economic development negotiations” in downtown. Buildings have begun changing hands for investment and redevelopment, and city officials have begun serious discussions about how to help.
