With the Ennis Girls Softball Association (EGSA) season coming to an end last week, I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize some of the best individual performances I saw this year. As always, I can only comment on the games I covered in person. These young ladies took advantage of their opportunities to shine.
1. Chelsea Vandiver vs. Whitney Robinson
In a 17-1 blowout district victory for her DRP Auto Body Hotshots team, Chelsea put together a very productive all-around game. In the circle, she struck out eight with three walks and just one hit allowed in three innings of work. She struck out the side in each of the first two innings.

Tye, my name is Freddie Lopez , I was a coach for Mighty Clean Sluggers. In response to your article, no doubt these young ladies can play ball. But, I do want to mention one of the best all-around girls out there this season was Alize Lopez (my daughter , and I’m not being biased). Not only did she lead a young team (undefeated), she was the best player consistently on offense and defense. Thanks for what you do, but remember the name, because she is going to be an elite athlete in all sports.
