The community’s combined effort over the course of a week in October has officially borne fruit. Ennis High School Principal David Averett said Tuesday the school won a $25,000 grant as part of State Farm Insurance’s “Celebrate My Drive” contest.

The contest had supporters of 3,500 schools across America voting for a school of their choice, while taking a pledge to observe driving safety and recognize the dangers to teenagers on the road as part of National Teen Driver Safety Week.
