EISD board ends transfer tuition

Phil Bankerp...@ennisdailynews.com

The Ennis ISD School Board started its meeting after inducting its last new member on Tuesday night.

Former Ennis Junior High School teacher Alan Linson, placed on administrative leave not long after winning election to the board, took the oath of office at the beginning of the meeting before it delved into business.

The board went on to vote unanimously to no longer charge tuition for students living outside the district boundaries who wish to attend Ennis ISD anyway.

I wonder if the transfer tuition ended because there are so many Ennis parents taking their kids out of EISD and EISD is needing to add students to the district? Seems like it would be easier to fix whatever problems exist that are causing parents to take their kids out of Ennis schools.

You can’t charge others to come here when no one who lives here wants to be here…sad!
