Ellis County gathers for honor, respect

Hundreds poured into the Waxahachie Civic Center on Saturday morning to pay tribute to the men and women who gave their youth, their blood and their lives in service to their country.
David Hudgins, one of the organizers of the Veterans Appreciation Day ceremony, said the annual event is a labor of love to pay tribute to Ellis County’s fighting men and women, from World War II to today’s conflicts around the world.
