Engineers evaluating road plan

Freese and Nichols will take the next few weeks to evaluate the city’s road construction plan so commissioners will understand costs as they make decisions on which streets will see work in the coming year.

Commissioners gave their OK last week to task the engineering firm to tighten cost estimates for further evaluation on the project, which is aimed at reconstructing about 12 miles of street with asphalt overlays at a cost of about $6 million.
