Ennis approves budget, tax rate

Nick Todaro n...@ennisdailynews.com

The Ennis City Commission gave final OKs to its budget and tax rate Monday, setting in place a continuation of the property tax rate last changed in the 2009-2010 cycle.

Property owners likely will see their overall tax burden decrease. The Ellis County Appraisal District’s annual valuations in Ennis reflected a countywide trend of falling home values.

With an identical tax rate to the 2012-2013 budget cycle, homeowners’ bills should reflect the drop in their home values.
