Ennis is retaining legal counsel to ready for possible litigation with Direct Energy, the firm that closed down operation here in fall 2012.
Direct Energy, which had employed more than 400 people at the local call center facility at one time, announced its intention to close in late spring 2012, and the city immediately notified the company of a breach of contract of the city’s tax abatement with the company.
