EPD arrests wanted sex offender

The Ennis Police Department assisted the Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Texas Highway Patrol in arresting one of the state’s most wanted sex offenders.

Lt. Mike Hopson, head of the EPD’s criminal investigation division and spokesman, said they were notified at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday by DPS investigators, who were doing surveillance on a man wanted out of Brazos County on charges of failing to register as a sex offender.
