EPD takes direct hit from bolt

City Manager Steve Howerton confirmed this morning that Ennis Police Department headquarters at 119 W. Brown St. took a direct hit from lightning during Wednesday’s storm.

The strike affected many of the department’s electrical systems, Howerton said, including key services that include the city’s 911 system, its Connect-CTY system, its severe weather warning siren system, the department’s computer network, its information server and other systems.
