Ewings: Master plan needed

Nick Todaro[email protected]

City Manager Chuck Ewings brought his first project to the Ennis City Commission on Monday — a comprehensive master plan for city development that hinges on public input.

The intention is to guide development and update the last such planning document, drafted in 2000. The 20-year roadmap would encompass land use, transportation, neighborhood development, parks and recreation, downtown and economic development as a whole. Given commission consent Monday, Ewings will request proposals from consultants to draft up a plan for the community, which he expects to cost about $100,000 or more.
