Family sending three to serve their country
A local family wants to extend well-wishes to three young men on their way into the ranks of military service.
Reuben D. Montemayor, Jr., “B.R.” was born Jan. 24, 1992 to Crystal Boyett Montemayor and Reuben Montemayor, Sr.
His stepparents are Eddie Hernandez and Diana Montemayor. Reuben graduated from Ennis High School in 2010. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force. He will be leaving June 7 for Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio for boot camp. He has been accepted into Special Forces, so his training will consist of stops in Florida, Washington and Georgia over the next 12 months. Reuben’s other siblings are Roger, Eric, Orlando and Tyler Montemayor. His stepbrother is Jacob Lusk, stepsister is Elena Alaniz and nephew is Dean Maxwell. Reuben’s great-grandfather Charlie Godwin served in the Army.

I am BR’s mother, I would like to thank the Ennis Daily News, and all our family and friends who have showed thier support. I never thought watching my baby leave home would be so hard. I know he will be fine and he certainly makes us proud. Thanks again
Crystal, I would just like to thank you and your family, especially your son, for your sacrifices. I am very proud of Reuben and would like to just say Thank you for serving our country. I will be in constant prayer. God Bless you.
