Farmers Market ahead of new laws

The Ennis Farmers Market won’t be affected by new laws coming into effect this Sunday, as city officials anticipated the new laws when crafting local ordinances.

A slate of new laws approved by the Texas State Legislature will go into effect this Sunday, two of which regulate the cottage food industry and farmers’ markets.

House Bill 1382 regulates food stored, distributed and sold at farmers’ markets, establishing clear standards involving cooking demonstrations and sampling.
