The Ellis County Commissioners Court voted Monday to renew the county’s participation in a feral hog abatement program.
The court authorized the county’s participation in the Hog Out County Grants Program as part of the Texas Department of Agriculture Feral Hog Abatement Technologies Program. The court took the same vote last year on Sept. 14.
“They’re a perennial problem,” said Mark Arnold, Ellis County Extention agent with the Texas Agrilife Extension. “They’re very prolific.”
