Two local churches partnered over the weekend with the express goal to “be church,” instead of just attending church.
To that end, Tabernacle Baptist Church and The Avenue Church in Waxahachie turned out between 500 and 600 volunteers in the rain Sunday to give away nearly double the original 40,000-pound goal to more than 600 families.
