Freezing rain locks up Ellis County
An earlier winter weather advisory for today’s sleet and freezing drizzle has extended into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Early morning sleet and freezing drizzle has left roads around the North Texas area treacherous, with Ennis and eastern Ellis County no exception to that problem as the day has worn on.
Most accumulating snow and sleet has come to an end, but it has left elevated bridges and overpasses, as well as some city roads, slick. Freezing drizzle is expected to redevelop over the area for the remainder of the day, and will likely exacerbate slickness issues around the area.
