Garden Club freshens sign before festival
Two members of the Ennis Garden Club planted new flowers around the city of Ennis sign, located on NW Main Street and W. Ennis Ave. Julie Hejny and Anne Anderson purchased plants from TEX-Scapes Greenery, to add fall color by the sign, just in time for the Autumn Days in Ennis Fall Festival this weekend.
The pair also spruced up the front of the Ennis Convention and Visitors Bureau, and director Gina Rokas bragged on their work “making Ennis beautiful.”
The Autumn Days Fall Festival is slated for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in downtown Ennis. Food, fun and entertainment will be available in downtown including street vendors, children’s activities and music. Past attractions have included pony rides, face painting, rock climbing, pumpkin painting and more.
