GOP dominates local balloting
ELLIS COUNTY — This county’s obvious preference was denied Tuesday night as national polling backed another term for President Barack Obama.
Ellis County residents backed challenger Mitt Romney to the tune of more than 74 percent of ballots cast. Voter motivation was high with more than 50,000 registered residents casting ballots, and the trend toward more and more early voting continued with a whopping 34,559 ballots cast ahead of Tuesday’s poll day.
