Grant lets SPCA offer free spay, neuter

Powder, a Pug and Chihuahua mix, is an energetic 1-year-old. He's also people and cat friendly. Many of the animals at Ellis County SPCA shelter are spayed or neutered, but the shelter is also offering limited spay and neuter service for free to qualifying pet owners through August.

Ellis County’s SPCA has good news for animal lovers — through August, the group will help qualifying pet owners get free spaying and neutering for their animals.

SPCA Director Christian Parker said the windfall opportunity is available to pet owners with two or more animals in their homes, but only until Aug. 31.
