Helicopter down near Avalon

No injuries were reported after a prototype helicopter made an emergency landing in a cotton field near Avalon on Tuesday morning.
Deputies with the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a helicopter going down near Avalon.
Lynn Lunsford with the Federal Aviation Administration office in Fort Worth said Bell Helicopter Textron owned the aircraft.
