With one more day of filing eligibility for open races in the citywide election this May, incumbents in Ward 2, Ward 4 and the city marshal’s post are currently without opponents.
Caroline Frazier and Lola Searcy, who represent Ward 2 and Ward 4, respectively, are the only candidates seeking those offices to date. Ennis Police Chief John Erisman faces no opposition as of today. The Ward 6 race for the mayor pro-tem position has fielded two candidates: Ennis natives Ken Hackney and Booker T. Washington.
