The Ennis Lions (7-12-2, 2-5) fell flat against the Waxahachie Indians (18-4, 6-1) Thursday during a tough battle that left the Lions with a 12-2 loss at end the first half of district play.

“I don’t think we were mentally prepared for this game at all. We knew Waxahachie was good, but I guess we came out flat,” junior Cody Navarro said. “We should have come out with more fire. If we would have come out, we could have hung with them.”
