Labor force shows growth

Unemployment remained steady from June to July as employment and total workers available grew in Ellis County.
The county’s labor force grew to more than 76,000 workers in July, with more than 70,200 of those individuals reporting employment. Unemployment declined slightly from 5,774 filers in June to 5,760 filers in July, keeping the percentage of unemployed at 7.6 percent in the month.
